A major international energy‑services company secured one of Scotland’s largest office leasing agreements as part of its UK expansion strategy. The new development totalled 1,000,000 sq ft of office accommodation, with the firm occupying 335,000 sq ft within a purpose‑built business park adjacent to Aberdeen International Airport.

The organisation is one of the region’s largest employers, previously operating across multiple sites. Consolidating staff into a single, modern campus provided upgraded facilities and improved operational cohesion.

The development comprises three interconnected buildings in a prime airport‑side location. Amenities include full catering facilities, a fitness centre with squash courts, nursery, medical suite and auditorium. The campus is designed to accommodate approximately 2,400 employees and is positioned to benefit from wider infrastructure improvements, including the completion of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route.

ScoMac Catering Equipment Ltd was commissioned to review the client’s catering model at its Scandinavian headquarters and adapt it for UK operations. The brief required robust, versatile production equipment paired with high‑quality Corian front‑of‑house finishes delivered by ScoMac’s in‑house specialist fit‑out team. The main kitchen and servery were designed to provide a varied hot and cold offer for more than 1,500 staff across three sittings, supported by satellite outlets including a coffee shop, made‑to‑order sandwich deli, juice bar, nursery catering provision and an internet‑shopping storage facility.

A further requirement was a mobile, self‑venting theatre‑cooking unit within the main servery. This allowed live cooking to be relocated outdoors for special events or moved to meeting rooms for more personalised dining experiences.
